Meet Corporal Sanchez

Corporal

When you first meet Corporal Sanchez, you notice immediately—the calm confidence, the quiet warmth, and the sense that she truly cares. It’s not just the badge that carries authority, but the heart behind it. And that heart, according to Corporal Sanchez, is a gift meant to be used for others. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…” she often reflects, a verse that has shaped not only her career, but her entire life.

She was raised in a tight-knit community where neighbors supported one another and simple kindnesses left lasting impressions. Growing up in that environment, she discovered an important truth: helping people wasn’t just something she enjoyed—it was part of her purpose.

After college and a patchwork of different jobs and experiences, the path eventually led to law enforcement. It wasn’t a straight line, but it was the right one. The job gives Corporal Sanchez something she values deeply: the ability to help people in their pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. Every day, that motivation fuels her—steady, purposeful, unwavering.

Outside the uniform, Corporal Sanchez is full of charming surprises. She can whistle at a pitch that makes people stop and look. She has a soft spot for shopping. And her favorite holiday is Christmas—not for the lights or the gifts, but for the celebration of Christ and the spirit of giving that fills the season.

Faith threads its way through everything she does. Verses like “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” guide her through life’s challenges. And even on the hardest days, when pessimism weighs heavily on the people around her, Corporal Sanchez tries to gently point them toward hope, believing fully that the Lord illuminates a path even when someone cannot yet see it.

Her dreams stretch far beyond the borders of town.  She imagines wandering through the ancient churches of Europe, taking in their centuries of history and reverence. She wants to participate in a charity mission abroad. And if she ever came into great fortune—say, a winning lottery ticket—she already knows how she’d use it: by establishing a nonprofit for disadvantaged youth and investing in a stronger, kinder Holbrook.

But perhaps the most telling part of her story is her outlook on life. If offered the chance to pause or rewind time, she wouldn’t take it. Every choice, every hardship, every joy has brought her to the community she loves today. Why change that? To her, regret only distracts from gratitude—and gratitude is something she holds dear.

If Corporal Sanchez could share one rule with the world, it would be simple: “Let all that you do be done in love.” It’s a principle that shines through in her work, her faith, her relationships, and even in the small joys she keeps to herself.

So, here’s to Corporal Sanchez —a dedicated public servant, a compassionate soul, a steadfast friend, and a quiet reminder that the world is made better not through grand gestures, but through the daily decision to serve with love.
